Mike Wood Performance Horses - Offers training of cutting horses, working cowhorses, for aged events and weekend events.
 

  Mike Wood was raised in Chandler, Arizona. He spent much of his youth on horse back at rodeos and roping events as well as AQHA shows and was a finalist at the World AQHYA Show. He has been training horses professionally for over 18 years. His program has evolved from his life long experience with horses, including working with Al Dunning for ten years.

  Mike has a strong work ethic and always puts the health of his horses first. He strives to have a unique relationship with each of his horses and clients in order to help them achieve the highest possible level of success. He is a serious competitor and dedicated to his clients.  The Non-pros, Amateurs, and Youth clients in Mike's barn share a pleasant comradery and have fun during practice and shows. They are no strangers to winning though; tough competition on top trained horses is the norm. Mike also believes that a long lasting relationship with his customers shows the communication and trust that a well rounded business partnership can bring.  Some of his clients he has had for over 15 years.

  Mike Wood Performance Horses offers all levels of training and lessons. He takes horses from colts to finished show horses in training. Mike has been a finalist or a champion at many major events including the NCHA Western Nationals, NRCHA World Championship Snaffle Bit Futurity, and the AQHA World Championship Show.

  A great addition to Mike Wood's program is Ryan and Stormy Else. Ryan is Mike's assistant trainer and helps with all phases from starting colts to showing horses and giving lessons. Stormy helps out with all the organization and paper work that comes along with running horse training operation.  They round out the team that makes Mike Wood Performance Horses a success.

  Mike also offers lessons to any level of rider from beginning horsemanship lessons to getting those finishing touches for the World Championship Futurity Show. He offers lessons on cattle and also dry arena work.
